    Being low on blinker fluid is a common problem but on the 4th of July, I tend to be more concerned that some of the vehicles will be filled up with something like ethanol or other high octane lubricants. Just sayin...

    We had to remove a large black oak tree that had been allowed to grow for decades a few feet away from the house we bought. I’d never seen a tree decimate tools so quickly with so little yield! But on the bright side, it was a project that brought out all the neighbors, volunteering their time and equipment. Loved that neighborhood and I have that stubborn black oak to thank for the introductions!

    I used to help my father on occasion do this, he charged $2.50 a foot . This would have paid $300.00 if it was part of a couple of stumps, but if not then the minimum charge of $500.00 would be the pay, he had a Rayco Super 50 this would have taken about 45 minutes to do. And by help I mean I would fetch the water when he needed it. He was 65 and had cancer in 70% of his body from agent orange, it was discovered in 1999 when they did the workup for the surgery, they found a 99% blockage in the artires in his hart, so he had a double by-pass and 45 days later had prostate surgery, the cancer had made it into his blood stream and was a 9 on the 1-10 aggression scale. He did the trials at the University hospital pretty much all of the trials that came up involving the cancer treatment. He was one of the first to take the loopron shot, he lived 20.3 years from the day they did the surgery. He visited his hart surgeon that did the bypass 14 years later and the man cried when he saw my dad, he told him no way on earth would he have bet he was still alive much less walking and getting out in the 90-100° weather and working like he did. For those that don't know stupgrinding is a very tough job. The hart surgeon passed away at the 16 year mark. Dad live on untill October 15th 2020. Oh and the day after he came home from hart surgery he got on his grass hopper mower and cut the 9.8 archers of land he lived on. One tough man. He would not let anyone help him. He finally sucome to his pain when the Veterans Admin took away his pain meds for receiving meds from a second Doc they sent him to and he went for about 48 hours with out them, the stress of dealing with the VA and sitting in the er begging for his meds every ten days took its toll on him that started his final decline. Oh and a stage four terminal cancer patient was exempt from the rules of double prescription, and the med that caused the whole thing a double script of Gaba Penton. The VA refused to give him the meds back. He had to find an outside doc to take over during the middle of the opioid hysteria! Unintended consequences gave him his cancer (agent orange) and unintended consequences finished him off that and a total lack of common sence and empathy from a indivisual more worried about their licens than the veteran. All due to bureaucratic and three letter agencies punishing the masses rather than the individuals for abuse of the system. Sorry I got off on this tangent. I used to love hanging out with him and doing the stump jobs. Or I should say watching him do them. I bet I touched that machine tree times in the years I spent going with him. It is what kept him going. I spent my time moving the chairs from stump to stump we would sit and talk in and making sure the water was cold and plenty was in the cooler. You could see the sparked in his eyes when the week was some what full of jobs to do. He would smile evertime the customer would say when can you start. The work I belive did more for his pain psychological than the meds did. The ability to put in a full days work and still get paied at his age and condition was more of a healing thing than any meds he had taken, he worked 48 years for GM and was the one who turned the lights off in the plant when the last worker left it for the last time when it was closed. This was his retirement wish. That was in 2004 or somthing like that. Thanks for sharing this video it brought a smile.to my face an fond memories to my hart.

    I think this is what I got from a friend/tree guy for free. It's been sitting out side for about 5 years and the motor from the early 2000s has about 3900 hrs on it. It needs a 100% restoration but it will be worth it as a backup.

    Came across this video today and thought this was all very good information but it made me a bit angry thinking about what our locals want to charge me for a 24” stump give or take. The stump is sawn almost to the ground nice and flat and I’ve had estimates from $800-2500! I just laughed at those numbers, seriously? I had a crew of 5 remove the whole 60’ maple tree for $700 and these guys want $800-2500 to grind the stump? Argh!😡 Is this price gouging? I’ve found that I can rent a good size grinder for $178 for 24 hours. I have quite a bit of experience running machinery and am confident I can do this for the amount I can save. But I question why the stump grinding guys want to charge these exorbitant amounts, any ideas?

    • @mustangrebuilder
      @mustangrebuilder 8 дней назад

      I Have been flame thrower torched over this , I know it differs all across the USA but hey you can do it just follow some of my videos and dig around the stump looking for any rocks so you dont damage the teeth also for that size make sure you rent a 25hp and above machine

  • @penguinistas
